\"\"<\/a>During Saturdays in May, we will be operating steam and Model T rail car trains under our spring train schedule. Steam trains depart Sheepscot station (97 Cross Road, Alna) at 10.30 a.m., 12 noon and 1.30 p.m. If crew and our rail car are available, our Model T railcar will run at 10.55 a.m., 12.25 and 1.55 p.m.<\/p>\n

Along with our steam train service, we have several special events planned this month:<\/p>\n

Saturday, May 4th, 2 p.m.\u2014Our Annual Meeting.<\/strong> Stop by the historic Alna Meeting House<\/a> and hear about our Museum’s progress this past year, our current state, and plans for the future!<\/p>\n

Saturday, May 11th, 11.45 a.m.\u2014Mother’s Day Tea.<\/strong> Ride aboard reserved cars on our noon train to a special English-style Mother’s Day tea at our Alna Center station. The tea will feature locally-sourced cakes, scones, and sandwiches, plus tea and coffee. Moms will receive a special Springtime gift to bring home along with special treats when they board the train at Sheepscot. We’re looking forward to making this a special day for the whole family and moms in particular. Advanced purchase is required at wwfrytickets.simpletix.com<\/a>. In the event inclement weather requires cancellation of the event, full refunds will be provided.<\/p>\n

Saturday, May 18th, 6.15 p.m.\u2014Full Moon Train.<\/strong> Board a 6.30 p.m. steam train from Sheepscot to Alna Center station. At Alna Center, sit by a bonfire, watching the sunset and a presentation on narrow gauge railroading by WW&F Railway Superintendent Jason Lamontagne. Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase on site. After sunset the train will depart Alna Center amidst the warm glow of oil lamps for a unique steam train ride through the darkness back to Sheepscot. Regular fares apply ($10.00 adults\/$5.00 children 12 & under\/Free children 3 & under). Advance purchase tickets at wwfrytickets.simpletix.com<\/a> are recommended, but not required. However, we cannot guarantee space on the train without an advance ticket. Tickets are refundable up until 24 hours in advance.<\/p>\n

Saturday & Sunday, May 25th & 26th\u2014WW1 Remembered.<\/strong> Maine\u2019s 103rd Regiment Living History<\/a> commemorates the end of the Great War 100 years ago with \u201cEnd of the Track \u2014 Maine\u2019s 103rd Regiment Returns Home.\u201d Travel via the Sheepscot Valley Narrow Gauge to meet the troops at Alna Center station in 1919. See the 103rd\u2019s encampment as the soldiers practice military exercises and learn how the home front was affected by the war 100 years ago. Trains depart Sheepscot at 10.30 a.m., 12 noon, 1.30 and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Memorial Day weekend. Regular train fare applies.<\/p>\n

While there is a charge to ride our trains (except during Victorian Christmas), a visit to our Museum grounds is always free! Stop by any Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in May to see what projects are underway and watch trains depart and arrive at Sheepscot station.
