Experience an unforgettable day at the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway during Steam and Sleighs.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ride our steam-powered Sheepscot Valley Winter Service trains and enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh (or wagon) ride, visit to a farm, back country cross country skiing, snowshoeing, winter hiking, and more at our station stops along your journey.<\/p>\n

The train will take you to our Top of the Mountain station where you can enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh (or wagon) to bring you to SeaLyon Farm<\/a>.\u00a0 The farm will have a plethora of goodies available for perusal and purchase.<\/p>\n

Tickets include train fare, sleigh\/wagon rides, hot beverages & access to skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing trails.\u00a0 SeaLyon Farm items will be available for purchase.<\/p>\n

Regular train fares apply: $10.00 adults; $9.00 60+, museum members, and military (active and veteran); $5.00 children 4-12; and Free children up to age 3.<\/p>\n

Any advance tickets that may remain will be available for sale the day of the event.<\/p>\n

Trains leave from Sheepscot station (97 Cross Rd., Alna) at 10.30 a.m., 12 noon, and 1:30 p.m. to Top of the Mountain station and return.\u00a0 A final 3 p.m. train will pick up our guests; visitors are welcome to take that train as a round-trip ride.<\/p>\n

At Top of the Mountain, detrain for horse-drawn sleigh rides for a trip to SeaLyon Farm, self-guided snowshoeing, backcountry X\/C, hiking and to explore the work the railway is undertaking on the mountain extension, a .75 mile extension of the railway to a new station adjacent to Midcoast Conservancy<\/a>‘s beautiful Trout Brook Preserve<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For your convenience, a heated railcar and attendant will be on hand to help direct you at Top of the Mountain.\u00a0 There are no facilities at this remote location (outside of those offered at SeaLyon Farm.)\u00a0 Allocate 90 minutes of layover time to ride the sleigh, visit the farm, and enjoy the outdoor activities.<\/p>\n

Trains depart Top of the Mountain for the return back to Sheepscot Station at 11 a.m., and 12:30, 2:00 and 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Tickets are valid for round trip passage to and from Sheepscot station and include access to all of the day’s activities. Should you desire a longer layover at Top of the Mountain, you may return on any subsequent train.\u00a0 Last return trip departs Top of the Mountain at 3.30 p.m.\u00a0 Please order tickets in advance.<\/p>\n

Steam and Sleighs will be held snow or shine.\u00a0 In the event of hazardous driving conditions, the event will be canceled (announced via Facebook<\/a> and email) with tickets refunded.\u00a0 Come dressed prepared for the weather.\u00a0 If you care to engage in outdoor activities, please bring your own skis, snowshoes, or outdoor gear.<\/p>\n

Please arrive 15 minutes in advance of your train’s departure time to ensure a relaxed and pleasant experience.<\/p>\n

If you can’t visit January 25th or 26th, Steam and Sleighs will also be held February 15th and 16th.<\/p>\n
